The line on the right
approaches Port aux Basques, Newfoundland, and
the other line approaches the mouth of the Grand Codroy River. Those
two points are roughly 34 kms (~20 miles) apart. This image was
captured in 1989 aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia (STS-28) from an
altitude of approximately 175 miles.
The crew of STS-28 were: Brewster H. Shaw, Jr., Commander, Richard N.
Richards, James C. Adamson,
David C. Leestma, and Mark N. Brown.
